Biden Uses National Police Week Proclamation to Slam Law Enforcement

The following editorial is written by a retired Chief of Police and current staff writer for Law Enforcement Today.

WASHINGTON, DC- If you want to know why police officers across the country overwhelmingly supported President Trump over the feckless Joe Biden, look no further than Biden’s insulting statement “commemorating” National Police Week.

As police officers across the country continue to be used as target practice for violent thugs, Biden blamed cops for fueling “distrust” in minority communities during his proclamation declaring Peace Officers Memorial Day and National Police Week, Breitbart reported.

Color us “shocked.”

May 15 has been celebrated as Peace Officers Memorial Day for decades, while National Police Week typically sees ceremonies taking place in Washington, DC and across the country to remember the sacrifices made by police officers and their families across the United States.

On Saturday, Biden released a statement in which he claimed to express “gratitude for the selfless public servants who wear the badge,” but like a true law enforcement-hating left-wing hack, he made sure to qualify that statement by taking a direct slap at every man and woman who pins on the badge, as well as those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

As Steven Crowder would say, “What a piece of sh*t!”

Biden’s statement read:

“This year, we also recognized that in many of our communities, especially black and brown communities, there is a deep sense of distrust towards law enforcement; a distrust that has been exacerbated by the recent deaths of several black and brown people at the hands of law enforcement.

These deaths have resulted in a profound fear, trauma, pain and exhaustion for many black and brown Americans, and the resulting breakdown in trust between law enforcement and the communities they have sworn to protect and serve ultimately makes officers’ jobs harder and more dangerous as well.

“In order to rebuild that trust, our State, Local and Federal Government and law enforcement agencies must protect constitutional rights, ensure accountability for misconduct, and embrace policing that reflects community values and ensures community safety. These approaches benefit those who wear the badge and those who count on their protection.”

So, how do we respond to Biden’s insulting statement?

Not for nothing, Mr. “President,” but have you made a similar statement toward the thugs in cities across the United States who have been destroying those cities, attacking our citizens, and targeting those same police officers? Have you taken steps aside from platitudes to get the violence under control?

We remember last summer, as cities across the United States burned and as police officer after police officer was assaulted, some dying and some suffering career-ending injuries, you were silent.

It was only when it became politically expedient that you issued tepid statements and then blamed former President Trump for the violence being perpetrated by your voters.

Well guess what? Donald Trump is no longer president…you are. And still, cities such as Portland are seeing nightly riots, children are being gunned down on a regular basis in cities like Chicago and Philadelphia, and all you can do is parrot Black Lives Matter talking points.

To make matters worse, you have opened our borders to drug cartels and criminal gangs to prey upon American citizens, once again making the job of law enforcement more difficult.

So, what is your solution? Tie the hands of law enforcement, kowtow to the far-left neo-Marxists in your party who want to defund the police, eliminate qualified immunity, and basically remove any incentive for anyone to either become or remain a police officer. Maybe that’s the end game, who knows?

We have seen the talking points coming out of state-run media outlets such as the alphabet networks, CNN, MSNBC and of course state-run newspapers such as the Washington Post, the New York Times and others, telling us that “reform” may not be possible because there are too many “small agencies” in the United States.

What that sounds like to anyone who is paying attention is perhaps the federal government, already mad with power, would like to federalize all law enforcement. We’ve seen how well that has worked out for your political enemies, such as…oh.. Rudy Giuliani for example.

Meanwhile, your son…a perverted meth head escapes any scrutiny over what are clearly questionable documents on his laptop, including some which indicate human sex trafficking, possibly including minors. One can imagine that a federal police force…oh let’s call it the Gestapo would work out well for doing the bidding of the Democrat Party. Just look the other way when it comes to family members of Democrats committing criminal acts…or Democrats themselves.

It’s ironic that at the same time you are propping up violent left-wing groups, your administration, along with the Marxists in Congress are trying to defund and demoralize the police and take guns away from law-abiding citizens, possibly removing their only line of defense against your out-of-control criminals.

Add in the refusal of George Soros-funded district attorneys to DO THEIR JOB and this is a recipe for disaster. As fast as police officers arrest the criminals, your DAs let them out to offend again.

The fact that you chose to include Black Lives Matter talking points in a statement in which you are supposed to be honoring not only police officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice, but the mothers, fathers, wives, husbands, children, brothers and sisters they left behind is an insult.

More than that, it is evil. While most police officers always knew you didn’t support us, your tone-deaf statement confirms it.

We can imagine that on this upcoming Memorial Day, when we honor our fallen heroes who bravely served in our military, you will issue a similar statement and invoke, oh maybe the My Lai massacre in Vietnam or maybe excoriate the military for their participation in dropping the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Because of course, you have to placate your lunatic base, who hates the police, hates our military and hates everything that our United States stands for. Meanwhile, you lionize lifelong criminals…the list is long and notorious.

How refreshing it was over the past four years to have a commander in chief who respected our police officers and never would have thought to use the occasion of National Police Week to slam the very people the week is meant to commemorate.

In 2020, President Trump wrote:

“We must continue working toward a time when all people respect and understand the important work that law enforcement officers do,” he said. “Unfortunately, our law enforcement officers do not always receive the respect they deserve.”

Absolutely true, President Trump. Especially from the 46th “President” of the United States. To Joe Biden, hear this- we have as much respect for you as you do for us…NONE.
